Brothers & Sisters …  how do I love this?  Maybe because in my own family we have a big brother and little sisters?  They share a special bond.

Brothers & Sisters

When I was little, I always wanted a big brother.   Someone to look up to, someone to protect me, someone to be my big brother.

When my first kid was born I was so happy to have a boy first.  Then two years later,  I had a little girl. I got the little sister, big brother combination I always wanted.

Brothers & Sisters

Capturing this brother and sister made me so happy.   You could see how much they enjoy each other.   I absolutely loved the images of them holding hands.  It is such a simple gesture but it speaks volumes to this mommy!!    I tried to capture them individually because it was just as important to capture their personality!!  Sweet V’s smile is so sweet, you can tell he is a sweet big brother.  S makes me laugh.   That curly hair (so reminiscent of my little b), that spunky stance, those mischievous eyes.   This girl will keep you on your toes!

Brothers & Sisters

Brothers & Sisters…   can you tell I love this combo!!  I love how S looks up to her brother and how he is shying away from a big smooch!!  As we finished this shoot, S grabbed her brother and walked away.  This picture speaks volumes.  She is grabbing him and pulling him and he is just going along with it.   Brothers & Sisters..  it’s an automatic best friend, a confidant, a playmate and a protector!!  It is a special bond for life.

Afternoon in the Park

Afternoon in the Park

Her grandson was coming to spend his day with her. This grandma took him to a place she knew he would love!! They headed straight to the park to play. There is so much to do at parks that she know she would be able to capture special memories for them to be able to look back over through the years.

There is so much to do at parks! We started the morning running around, getting to know each other. There were some must poses that grandma wanted so we tried to get those first before he took off running and playing and before he got bored with us!! The goal was to capture him in the essence of his childhood!! We knew as soon as he saw all th park had to offer he would be off and running. He explored the bridge, like all little boys do, and even tried to climb into lake. We gave him a loaf of bread to feed the ducks and watched him giggle and talk to the ducks that came our way. We then headed to the playground and he hit the ground running. We chased him up the slide, waited for him slide down, pushed him on the swing, let grandma tickle and hug him, run and JUST PLAY. I love these sessions because I get to sit back and observe and capture his essence. Grandma loved having an afternoon with him and watching him be a little boy. I know she will cherish these memories!! He will have pictures to look back and see how much his grandma loved him and spending time with him. My job is not only capturing shots but capturing memories!! It was a special day watching the bond this grandma and grandson share.

A set of twin One year olds & 2 birthday cakes equals to one fun filled morning.   These two were just precious.  We were able to capture some individuals of them, some with their mickey & minnie and TONS of them with their birthday cake!!  Some tips for cake smashes, wear something that will get tons of icing on it, be prepared for the kids to take it slowly (especially if this is the first time they have tried cake), bring plenty of wipes for after and a bag to put their clothes in.   I can promise you it will be fun and we will all get messy!!!

I love when families get together and want to capture memories.    When grandma came in town, the kids decided they wanted to capture themselves all together.  They all got some great shots, but most importantly they created memories.

Is that song in your head now?  It sure enters mine every time I see this little girl.   C was a bit apprehensive at first, so big brother stole the show.   After a bit, she was all smiles.  I especially love the one where she ran to her brother to give him a big hug.  However, my all time favorite from this shoot were the sweet pictures between mommy & c.   You can feel and see the love between these two.  I know these will be pictures they will treasure forever.
